Rotterdam considers climate change not only a threat but also an opportunity to make the region more attractive and to revitalise the economy. There are many research institutions and companies in the region that are working on innovations in water management and climate adaptation. Moreover, the region provides space for new concepts such as floating cities. To gain more insight in the position of Rotterdam in 'water and climate activities', the Public Works department of the City of Rotterdam has invited Euricur to carry out a quick scan.
The study aims to answer the following questions:
To answer these questions we carried out desk research (internet sources, policy reports) and we had interviews with several experts and stakeholders in the field of water and climate.
