MMR is a first-level university's master degree in 'Management of the Metropolitan Region'.
The course deals with urban management and welcomes people from all over the world who want to get the knowledge and instruments needed for the urban manager of tomorrow. This MSc course offers a chance to meet modern visions on urban development and planning, to get acquainted with important relevant international developments and to exchange experiences with participants from various countries. Using literature, research experiences and by inviting guest lecturers from different countries a variety of issues concerning urban management is presented and discussed, such as management of metropolitan regions, urban revitalization and social exclusion, city marketing, public private partnerships, urban tourism and metropolitan organizing capacity.
This advanced master course starts every year in early October and the duration of the programme is one year - while in the first semester students follow courses in Venice, the second semester is mainly spent writing the thesis at one of the 5 partner universities (or in a city of your choice). The language of instruction is English.
