Since september 2007 Jeroen Klijs has been working as a junior researcher and has been involved in a number of Euricur projects.
Jeroen obtained his Master’s degree in economics at Erasmus School of Economics and Business Economics, with ‘Urban, Port and Transport Economics’ as a specialisation. He wrote his master's thesis about the promotion of Dutch inner cities, coming up with a model that can be used to determine which promotional instruments are most appropriate for an inner city, given its specific circumstances. After his gradution and before joining Euricur, Jeroen has worked as a junior consultant for the transport division of Ecorys.
One of the projects in which Jeroen is involved at the moment is 'Partners for Healthy Cities'. The project will investigate the relationships between health and urban development and search for strategies that can be used to improve the health of the urban population. There will be explicit attention for the role that non-public actors can play in this respect.
